Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky

Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is the most recent RPG release in the extended Atelier series. It is a stand-alone game, so if you’ve never played any of the previous ones, you could definitely start here.

The main characters in the story are Escha Malier and Logix (Logy) Fiscario, government employees in the small town of Colseit. The game-play is based around the idea of governance of time: the year is split into quarters, and each “season” has its own story quest, and side tasks that help develop the story. The quests are your main priority, and after those are completed, the story furthers into more detail including exploring and adventure, crafting/upgrading items, battling monsters, and checking off side tasks.

The game offers different endings and slight variations throughout the game when you play as either Escha or Logy. According to Griffin Vacheron of We Got This Covered, the “combat falls a bit flat compared to crafting, and it’s not always clear exactly what to do next, but luckily, the enjoyable and rewarding nature of exploration largely offsets such complaints.”

  1. I have to disagree with We Got This Covered. As far as Atelier games go this one is fairly linear. Just follow the assignments and you should be okay. Some of the older Atelier games were more open ended leaving you wondering what to do next.
